What a Day

We woke up (a little late) this morning to just enough snow to get George really excited. It really wasn't enough to even play in, but he sure wanted to and it was pretty to see at least a little snow on the ground. After rushing to get everyone dressed and fed we headed out to take a tour of one of George's prospective preschools. The tour was great and George really liked the teachers, toys and play ground. After we wrapped up our visit we headed to the grocery store for the weeks shopping. Then it was back to the house for lunch and a short rest. Next we loaded back into the car (again a little late) and headed to the pediatrician's office to have George's eye looked at...Saturday evening he got something (who knows what) in it and yesterday I noticed that it was red and irritated and appeared to still have something in it...The pediatrician concluded that there was something still in there and that he wasn't going to try and get it out. So we hung out while they called over to the Pediatric Ophthalmologist and set up a referral. They were actually able to see us today, so we loaded up again and headed across town. After waiting a while we saw the doctor and she again concluded that there was something in his eye (big shocker I know). She tried twice to get it out using numbing drops and tweezers, but didn't have any luck (apparently in situations like this...ie: a 3-1/2 year old boy...they very rarely are able to get it out this way). So, bright and early Thursday morning we will be headed over to the hospital where George will have to undergo a minor, outpatient surgery to get the "something" out. So far he is handling all of this pretty well and is actually a little excited when you ask him about it. He was a great boy all day long and really amazed me with his good behavior. Annie slept through most of the doctors visits, so it you have to spend the day at doctor's offices today was the way to do. After Thursday I'll post to let everyone know how things go.
