Well that was quick!!

We left the house at 5:30am this morning to head over to the hospital and were greeted with 15 degree temperatures to help wake us all up. We got to the hospital on time for check-in and were in a room by 6:30am. George's surgery (if you can call it that) was scheduled for 7:30am and they came to take him to triage about 7:15am. Levi went with him to the triage area to wait until he was ready to be taken to the O.R. and I stayed in the room with Annie. Levi was back in the room around 7:30am and they had just taken George to the O.R.. Then the doctor came in about 7:40am and said she was all done. She said that whatever was in his eye came out really easily and in one piece. She did not feel that we even needed to put him on any antibiotics. George was rolled back into the room (just waking up) around 7:50am. He drank some orange Gatorade, ate a grape popcicle, kept it all down and we left at 9:00am. All in all it was a really pleasurable experience. The nurse was really great with him and even gave him some stickers and a toy car. George did really well with the whole thing and only got upset when they were taking him to the O.R.. If a 3-1/2 year old has to have surgery this is the way to do it. This photo was taken after George returned to his room...note the "Yes" over the right eye.

  1. Thanks for the update and photo, a picture is worth a thousand words. He looks like he usually does when he's chillin with brown bear, it doesn't look like it was a big deal to him at all. Ma/Gran
