Farmhouse Update

Well...due to the rain they didn't make as much progress on the farmhouse as we had hoped last week, although progress was still made. The biggest accomplishment from the week was made on the electrical side of things. All of the wiring has now been pulled, nothing is "hooked-up" yet, but everything is in place now. All of the lighting fixture mounting brackets are in place, as well as all of the outlet and switch boxes. Levi and I also accomplished a big task by picking out and purchasing all of the new appliances for the house. This wasn't something we thought would happen this early in the process, but we are very lucky that it did. Last Friday morning we received a call from the plumber on the job and he said that he would need to know the "exact" location of the dryer exhaust vent by Saturday, so that he could cut the hole and the vinyl guy could work around it. In the process of picking out a washer and dryer we happened upon a great deal at Sears and decided to take advantage of it. So, we now have all of the appliances on order and ready to be delivered when the time comes. The current plan for this week is to begin and complete all of the vinyl siding and to complete the HVAC rough in for the 1st building inspection. If this week goes as planned and the 1st inspection goes good they hope to start putting the new insulation in next week and hanging the new dry wall the following. So, all in all we are still a lot further along than we thought would have been possible by now. The pictures were taken on Saturday and show from top to bottom: George "helping", lighting mounting brackets in the kitchen and pulled wire and outlet/switch boxes in George's room. With any luck I will have some wonderful shots of the new vinyl siding to post later today.
