More Progress
Things are really coming together on the farm house renovation. The kids and I headed over yesterday to meet with the floor folks to determine what color to refinish the original oak floors. When we arrived around 10:40am they had already sanded all of the upstairs and were starting on the downstairs. The electrical/plumbing/HVAC guy was also there working and he wrapped up all of the plumbing work before he left around 4:00pm...which means we now have all sinks, showers, faucets, toilets, etc. in place and operational. The contractors were working on the new handrails for the back steps, the top surface had been applied to the countertops and George's bedroom had been painted as well. The plan for the next few days is to complete the prepwork involved with refinishing the floors and then apply the 1st two coats of the polyurathane. This will take the better part of today and tomorrow and then we will have to stay off of the floors until Sunday to let them completely dry. After that all of the remaining electrical and HVAC work, the remaining trim and the other remaining odds and ends will be completed and we will wrap up with the last coat of polyurathane. Things are looking really good and wrapping up quickly. Sorry no pictures, but I just never got a chance to take any yesterday.
