Happy Birthday To Me
As most of you know, yesterday was my 29th birthday and it was an absolutely wonderful day. George gave me his gift (see "Through The Lens of a Four Year Old Photographer") as soon as we were all out of bed and I cannot think of a better way to start a birthday than by receiving such a wonderful gift from my son. We did our normal morning routine...breakfast, clothes, etc. and took Memphis out for his morning walk. Then we headed over to some friends (thanks Greg & Vickie) corn patch to pick some fresh silver queen corn. Then it was back home for lunch. Miss Annie fell asleep on the way home and stayed asleep as I moved her to her bed, so George and I had lunch together...just the two of us. Then since Annie was sleeping so nicely I decided to take advantage of having time with George and let him skip his quiet time. We just talked and did a few things around the house, but it was really nice to have time with just him. After Annie woke we all played for a while and then it was time to get "cleaned up" to head to town to meet Levi at our favorite Mexican joint for dinner. Levi had arranged for quite a few of our friends and family to join us for dinner, which was a nice surprise for me. The dinner and the company was great and since it was a Mexican birthday dinner I had the privilege of being serenaded while wearing a very large sombrero and got a free ice cream sunday! Then we came home, got the kids to bed and I took Memphis out for another walk. Levi and I sat out on the front porch talking for a while and then it was off to bed, where I slept as soundly as I have for a long time. It really was a great day and I'd like to thank everyone that helped make it so nice. Thanks to all that called, emailed, blogged, sent cards, joined us for dinner, or just thought of me...it truly was a special day.
