Green Beans?!?!

Levi and George got up a little before 6:30am this morning to head out the garden to start picking green beans before the heat and humidity of the day set in. When they got there Karen/Mom/Grandma had already picked about a half a row and was rolling right along. After it was all said and done (about 4 hours later) we ended up with two full five gallon buckets and six full 2-3 gallon buckets...a whole lot of beans!! We got them all "snapped" and by the days end we had canned 21 quarts. We've got a big bunch on the counter that we are going to try freezing and a few others left to eat now. It really has been a great year for gardening...with any luck things will keep up and we'll be eating home grown veggies all summer, fall and into the winter. I'm gonna do my best to get a few pictures of the (very bountiful) garden tomorrow to post...we'll see.
