Garbage Gut

Apparently, Annie really takes one of her nicknames quite literally. Her Daddy lovingly refers to her as either garbage gut or piggy (yes...I have told him the last one is not very nice) while she is shoveling food into herself as is the norm at meal times. One afternoon this week (while Miss Pris was refusing to nap) I had her in the laundry room with me as I was washing clothes. Before I realized it she performed one of her amazing disappearing acts. As I walked out of the laundry room, I saw her standing in front of the garbage can with it opened and the last quarter of George's peanut butter and jelly sandwich from lunch in her had. She had taken at least one bite and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying it, I might add, before I got it away from her. I then proceeded to lecture her (yes...I know that lecturing a nearly 15 month old is pointless, but it at least makes me feel like I've done something to "fix" the situation) on why we shouldn't eat from garbage cans...then I realized that she was just doing her own little part to live up to her Daddy's loving nickname. I guess from now on I'll have to keep a closer eye on her when garbage is close at hand.
