Thirteen Years
Thirteen years ago today Levi and I "went out" for the first time. Our first date was to dinner with a group of mostly Levi's friends and their dates and then to our high school ring dance (i.e. junior prom). We were both beginning to get sick, so we didn't feel our best, but we still had a good enough time to try it again a few weeks later with a movie (just the two of us) and from then on we have been mostly inseparable. It's hard to think back to that time when two awkward 16 year old kids were doing their best to figure things out, but it's even harder to think that they actually did figure it out and have made it work. Now don't get me wrong...I am not trying to imply that we have made no mistakes or that it has all been a field of daisies, but we have made it through everything that has been thrown our way and come out stronger on the other side. And I think if you were to talk to couples that have made it for the long haul they would say that is one of the most important things. So, happy thirteen years of togetherness to the one and only love of my life...I cannot and would not imagine my life without you in it.
