George's Hair

There is a funny George story below, but I feel a little background is needed first. About a week ago George got a much needed haircut. He had told Levi and me that he wanted to...in his words..."let it grow long, so I can have a mohawk on the top and the sides", so we were abiding his wishes and not forcing him to cut it. Apparently his feelings changed last week when he rode to the barber shop with his Pa because he came home with a nice cut that is pretty short on the sides, but still has a little length to the top; which had been gelled into a front spike. When I asked him how he told the barber (who just happens to be Levi's sister's father-in-law) he wanted it cut he answered: "I told him I wanted it short, but still long enough to stand up" and to that I responded: "Well, it looks like that's just what you got." Since then he has wanted to "stand it up" about 50% of the time...the story below is from one of the times when it has been "fixed".

Yesterday morning while George was climbing into the car to go to school (YES, they finally had school again!!) he hit his head pretty good on the roof. He opened his mouth and I was expecting him to tell me something along the lines of "Ouch, that hurt", but instead I hear "Oh no, my hair." SERIOUSLY!!! My 4-1/2 year old son said: "Oh no, my hair"...I don't think I have ever said those words and I surely never expected to hear them coming out of his mouth. I guess it just goes to show you that you never can tell what kids are going to say.
