It was snowing lightly when the kids and I got up this morning around 7:30A. It really started coming down around 10:30A and kept up until about 5:00P when it turned to freezing rain. Before it made the switch we had accumulated about 4-5 inches of snow. It is now 8:40P and the freezing rain is still coming down...according to the weather it should be switching back over to snow soon and after that we should get another 3-5 inches of accumulation. I surely hope the switch to snow comes soon...the wind has really picked up in the last few hours and with the ice on the power lines we are starting to have some spotty power outages. In the last hour the power has come and gone (only being off for seconds at a time) at least a half a dozen times and as we do not have any back-up, I don't think it would be much fun to be without heat for the evening. So, keep your fingers crossed for us that the snow comes soon!! The photos above were taken at approximately 11:20A and really show how much snow was coming down.
and an hour later -- the power blinked and stayed that way...for almost 24 hours -- but that was a "faster fix" than they said originally - which was a 48 hour "outage"...glad they got that part wrong. Wonder what tomorrow morning will bring!
