Memorial Day

Levi enjoying the beautiful day.

Memphis "meeting" Jackson.

Jackson (GaVa's (Levi's Aunt) dog).

George playing tennis with GaVa...looks a lot like his baseball swing, huh?!?!

Great Gran (my grandmother) relaxing at the pool.

Annie...just being her usual beautiful self.

We had a very good (and productive) Memorial Day weekend; although it was quite busy. On Saturday I hosted a baby shower for my sister, Melissa (sorry...I forgot the camera, so I don't have any pictures to post) who is due to have her 2nd baby (a girl) in early July and Levi helped his dad get up about 25-30 acres of hay and then cleaned off our front porch. Sunday was spent doing prep work for George's big 4th birthday celebration this coming weekend...we cleaned and set-up all of our patio and porch furniture, moved some "stuff" around in the garage to give us a little more room, started mowing the lawn and Levi also helped with more hay. We started Monday (Memorial Day) bright and early with a long walk then we finished up the mowing and trimming. After lunch we headed to the garden to plant the last of the tomatoes and peppers, did some weeding and cultivating and then got cleaned up for dinner. We headed over to Gran and Grandpa's to enjoy a cookout with my sister and her family and my grandmother who we are lucky to have in town visiting for a week. It really was a nice weekend and it was great to have Levi home for 3 days...we were able to get so much done, so next weekend won't be so crazy (hopefully). I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekends as much as we did and I'd like to thank all those that have served (or are serving) our country to enable us to enjoy the freedoms that we have. Happy Memorial Day to you all.

  1. Nice pictures! So glad that Jackson and Memphis seemed to get along ok. Hope they will be big buddies. Can't wait to play tennis with George again. I heard there are big tennis balls that they use for little kids to learn with .... but he didn't have too much trouble nailing the little ones!!
